ST. MARK

ABOUT US
The St. Mark Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ was established on April 21, 1968 under the leadership of Pastor James & Elder Norma Becton. They started from humble beginnings with service being held in a small wooden barn to now a brick edifice. Pastor James Becton transformed many lives through the preaching of God's word until he took ill for many years. After the passing of Pastor James Becton, Elder Norma Becton carried on the ministry, preaching and teaching God's words that brought forth salvation, transformation, healing and deliverance to God's people. The St. Mark Church has a history of being a beacon of light in the community while sharing the good news of Jesus Christ to all who would listen. After the transitioning from labor to reward of Elder Norma Becton, the succeeding Pastor would be Bishop Farries C. Slade, Sr., in which he grew up in St. Mark as his home church. After 10 years of Pastoring at St. Mark, preaching, teaching and leading God's people into greater pasture he retired as Pastor of the St. Mark Church. With high recommendation, qualification and confidence he passed the baton to one his mentees and former bible students, Elder Aida T. Bond. Upon the confirmation and agreement of the Church body she became the Pastor of the St. Mark Church January 21, 2018. As current Pastor Elder Bond continues to build upon the foundation that has been laid before her, which is the word of God. Through her passionate and fiery preaching and teaching, many lives are being touched and changed. The St. Mark Church is a ministry of love, fellowship and is passionate about ministry and the transformation of God's people. We stand on the WORD OF GOD (the Bible) and believe in the Trinity....God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Through the POWER of the Word, ANYONE can be RENEWED, EMPOWERED AND CHANGED!

BE RENEWED
Be ye transformed by the RENEWING of your mind.
Romans 12:2
BE EMPOWERED
After the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you shall receive POWER. Acts 1:8
BE CHANGED
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I thought as a child, but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
1 Corinthian 13:11
